What is Seller Score?

The Seller Score is a key indicator that evaluates the quality and reliability of your store on Jumia. It provides customers with a clear view of your performance as a seller, allowing them to shop with confidence. This score is based on objective data visible to buyers, thereby strengthening your credibility on the platform.


What is the purpose of the Seller Score

A good Seller Score helps you gain visibility, attract more customers, and grow your business. It also contributes to building a strong brand image, which is essential to stand out in a competitive environment.


How can you see your Seller Score?

You can check your current seller score from the homepage of the Vendor Center.

This score is essential for your customers as it is one of the first things they see before purchasing your products.

Your score is based on three key criteria:

  • Shipping speed: how quickly you deliver your products.
  • Quality return rate: the percentage of returns due to quality issues.
  • Average customer rating: the evaluation left by customers after receiving their orders.

Score update

Your Seller Score is updated every week, based on the performance over the last 28 days, excluding the current week and the previous week.


How is your Seller Score calculated

It is calculated based on your store’s performance over the last 28 days, excluding the current and previous week.

It includes three indicators, each weighted at 33.33%:

  • Shipping speed (Speed Shipping)
  • Return rate for reasons impacting the seller (quality, wrong item, wrong size, etc.) / QRR (Quality Return Rate)
  • Average customer rating / ACR (Average Customer Rating)

Speed Shipping is calculated as follows: The seller receives a score out of 5 for each item based on the delivery time:

  • Item delivered on day J or J+1 → 5/5
  • Item delivered on day J+2 → 4/5
  • Item delivered on day J+3 → 2/5
  • Item delivered on day J+4 → 1/5

Quality Return Rate (QRR) = (Number of items returned for reasons impacting the seller / Number of items delivered to customers) × 100

Average Customer Rating (ACR) = Total stars given by customers for each product / Number of products rated


How does that affect your customers?

Your seller score is visible on the pages of each of your products.
Products from the best-performing sellers achieve a purchase rate up to 10 times higher than other sellers.


The rating score that appears is the result of these 3 criteria:

  • Shipping speed, corresponding to the speed of delivery of your products.
  • Product quality rate, corresponding to your store’s return rate.
  • Average product rating, provided by your customers after receiving the product.


What is the significance of customers review of your products

Through these reviews and ratings, you demonstrate your credibility to your customers. Customers always pay attention to product reviews before making a purchase.

How can you improve your seller score?

  • Improve your shipping speed by delivering your orders within 48 hours.
  • Deliver compliant products (correct size, color, model, etc.) and of good quality to avoid returns.
  • Improve the rating given to the quality of your products by ensuring your descriptions are detailed and accurate, and that you sell authentic branded products.

What are the benefits of obtaining a high seller rating?

  • By obtaining a rating of 3 or above, you benefit from better visibility on the website and in search results.
    This allows customers easier access to your store and products, which can lead to increased sales.

Additionally:

  • You avoid penalties related to order cancellations or returns.
  • You retain full access to the maximum number of daily orders.

What are the consequences of a poor seller rating?

  • With a rating below 3, you will be subject to an additional contribution for a low score.
    The percentage of your commission contribution will increase proportionally to your seller score, instead of applying direct penalties for each cancellation or return related to product quality.

📝 Note: Cancellations made by the customer or returns due to a change of mind or correct size but the product not suiting the customer do not affect your score.

Does this mean all penalties have been removed?

  • Penalties will only be applied in cases related to rules and regulations, such as:

Counterfeit/fake products: 2000 MAD fine.
